I picked up Pastrix: The Cranky, Beautiful Faith of a Sinner & Saint by Nadia Bolz-Weber while I was in Seattle last month. I love this book. It’s a religious memoir, but it felt real. Many of the religious memoirs I’ve read come across as “I’m such a saint see what I’ve done” where as Nadia Bolz-Weber freely professes her status as both Saint & Sinner. She is not only a Pastor, but a fellow human.
I have so many thoughts and feelings about this book. Despite coming from an EXTREMELY different background both personally and religiously, a part of me deeply connected with this book. I kept finding myself saying “That’s what I think too!” or “That’s how I feel!”.
This was an amazing read and I would say it’s worth the time to pick it up!
Really enjoyed your review. This is very helpful.
